Kampala International University (KIU) is a private university in Uganda. KIU has two campuses; the main campus in Kampala ) is located along Ggaba road in Kansanga, 3 km from the city centre and 2 km from the shores of Lake Victoria in ugandas central region and the School of Health Sciences (KIU Western Campus) is located in Ishaka, Bushenyi district western Uganda, with branches both in Kenya and Tanzania.
Recognition and acknowledgement by the government of Uganda, the university offers both undergraduate and post-graduate programs on full-time as well as part-time basis.
All KIU academic programs are conducted on a semester basis except the Access Program, Health Sciences, In-service Education courses, and the MBA (Executive), which follow separate schedules.
The School of Health Sciences (KIU Western Campus) Hospital comprises various units which render different services to the University Community. The maternal and Family Planning Clinic deals with the immunization of children and students, dispenses vaccines and contraceptives. The Hospital has a 22 bed in-patient ward and admissions to the ward are exclusively for students only. Our facilities in the Teaching Hospital help to train the next generation of medical professionals. Since its inception, KIU has trained over 1,200 medical professionals in various fields.
Kampala International University Dar es Salaam College is a Constituent College of KIU. The College is situated at the popular Gongo la Mboto town of Dar es Salaam (500m off Julius Nyerere Road). There are various academic programmes in the college that lead to the award of Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees in the fields of Management, Education, Social Sciences, Pure Sciences and Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences and Law.
